Printful hits million pound sales target

US-based print and fulfilment company, Printful, has made big strides in its mission to expand profits and continue supporting small businesses.

The company hit a new milestone by achieving $1b (£738m) in gross merchandise value (GMV) during the busy November/December sales season.

The data, which was collected after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shows that Printful has now printed over 40 million items. The sales increase comes after 34% of Printful customers expanded their product catalogue to take advantage of the busy sales period.

The success of Printful also coincides with the company’s recent expansions in areas such as Mexico, Dallas, and the UK.

The British fulfilment centre in Wolverhampton recently opened and was set to officially launch on January 18th this year. Printful told Print Monthly the event was cancelled due to concerns over the ever-growing Omicron variant of Covid-19.

Printful’s highest sales stemmed from US locations such as California, Texas, and New York, but sales increases were also seen in the UK, Canada, and Germany.

Their 2021 campaigns and efforts have paid off … I am proud to announce that, as a result, this has been our biggest peak season yet.

Davis Siksnans, chief executive officer and co-founder of Printful says: “Black Friday and Cyber Monday is our busiest time of the year.

“Each season, our customers and business owners around the globe start preparing for the holidays earlier than the last. Their 2021 campaigns and efforts have paid off because, during the sales weekend alone, they generated more than $13m (£9.6m) in sales. I am proud to announce that, as a result, this has been our biggest peak season yet.”

The busy period saw an increase in corporate gifts and bulk orders. With an additional 70 products added to their catalogue, Printful’s best selling products of the year were T-shirts, jumpers, and hoodies.

Regardless of the current global challenges taking place in the industry, ecommerce revenue is projected to increase to $5.4trn (£3.9trn) in 2022.
