Antalis helps customer slash logistics costs

Antalis has revealed that its fine-tuning of a customer’s carton packaging design helped the client make savings throughout the packaging and distribution process, cutting £132,000 in annual logistics costs.

The retailer reported a 30% increase in packing efficiency

The Antalis Packaging team carried out a free packaging audit with the unnamed large fashion retailer, identifying the size of the packaging box as the issue.

As the client wanted to retain this, Antalis proposed a new box design to retain the volume of the existing box but with altered dimensions, creating a taller, narrower box that it says created efficiencies throughout the picking, packing and logistics processes.

Jason Poxon, a technologist at Antalis Packaging, says: “This project is a great example of the power of our packaging audit and the importance of looking at ever touchpoint of the packaging and logistics processes.

"For any business wanting to create real efficiencies and genuine savings, it’s important to look beyond the cost of packaging materials to other aspects, such as speed to assemble, box dimensions and pallet optimisation, among many other factors.”
