Metsä details green packaging contest

Metsä Board has revealed it will launch its ‘Better with Less – Design Challenge’ this September, with those taking part tasked with creating environmentally friendly packaging.

The competition is open to students and professional packaging designers all around the world. Last year’s contest attracted entries from 38 countries and Metsä is hopeful of generating similar interest this year.

Metsä will use a jury of industry experts to judge this year’s event, with Alissa Demorest, editor in chief of luxury packaging magazine Formes de Luxe, and Andrew Gibbs, founder, chief executive and editor in chief of Dieline among the confirmed judges.

Ilkka Harju, packaging services director, EMEA and APAC at Metsä, and also competition jury chairman, says: “We are excited to have this multitalented international jury of renowned packaging design experts involved in the Better with Less – Design Challenge.

“Together we want to encourage packaging designers all over the world to create new, more environmentally friendly solutions for everyday packaging.”
