An explosion of possibilities at FESPA 2019

Taking place this week (May 14th-17th) is FESPA Global Print Expo, an international wide-format professional printing exhibition.

Presented across the six halls of the Munich Messe, Germany, the show demonstrates all aspects of the industry – from graphics, signage and décor, to packaging, textile applications and vehicle wrapping.

Drawing in over 700 exhibitors, the event is an opportunity for print companies to showcase their latest innovations and product launches.

Debuting at FESPA 2019, is Mimaki’s new 8” x 4” flatbed LED UV printer. The JFX200-2513EX has doubled print speeds when compared to the already popular JFX200-2513 model.

The printer also features a new print mode which Mimaki’s exclusive UK and Irish distributor, Hybrid says offers a 280% speed increase – achieving a maximum speed of 35sq m per hour.

“Higher print speed takes the pressure off time-sensitive jobs and helps our customers reduce lead times

Commenting on the technology, Brett Newman, chief operations manager at Hybrid says: “Higher print speed takes the pressure off time-sensitive jobs and helps our customers reduce lead times.

“With the majority of existing JFX200 printers being commissioned with white ink, the new ‘EX’ model will deliver a powerful solution that will make a difference right at the heart of the graphics printing industry.”

Also offering faster print production and reduced downtime is Electronics for Imaging (EFI) which is premiering new versions of its EFI Fiery digital front ends (DFEs) for superwide-format printers.

The newest version, the Fiery proServer Premium features powerful GPU hardware acceleration combined with the latest Fiery DFE software. It is this combination that EFI says doubles the speed of performance on its superwide-format printers.

“We continue to enhance Fiery DFE performance to enable our customers to be more productive, get the most out of their chosen printer, and help increase their competitiveness with higher-quality output and better colour management,” explains John Henze, vice president of sales and marketing at EFI Fiery.

The JFX200-2513EX is being launched at this year's FESPA Global Print Expo

Spreading across the entire show floor of Messe Munich’s six halls, is Drytac and its range of self-adhesive materials for large-format print and signage markets.

Visitors can spy Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 in use across the show floor as the official FESPA floor graphics. In addition to this, the Drytac booth (stand A5-G40) features four areas, each of which comprise an application space to imitate real-world projects: a retail shop area, an interior décor gallery, and a hospitality zone.

Drytac ReTac Textures is also being put to use at Printeriors 2019, FESPA’s interactive visitor experience displaying interior and exterior décor applications. Drytac Polar Cast film can also be spotted at OKI’s stand (A5-F10) during its live car wrap demonstrations.

The FESPA Global Print Expo 2019 motto – “An Explosion of Possibilities” – could not be more ideally suited to Sappi’s stand

In the world of sublimation, Sappi are on hand to debut its new Transjet Drive sublimation paper for industrial printers, featuring a glue-belt system. Sappi is also showcasing its range of inkjet papers for large-format applications, the Fusion Topliner containerboard as well as silicone base papers, all at stand B6-B30.

The company says: “The FESPA Global Print Expo 2019 motto – “An Explosion of Possibilities” – could not be more ideally suited to Sappi’s stand, where the company is presenting its high-quality and versatile papers to customers and interested parties.

“A highlight is the Transjet portfolio, with which fashion and home textiles, hard substrates and sportswear can be customised and personalised in strong colours using transfer printing. These papers are also suitable for soft signage, i.e. textile printing in marketing and advertising.”
