CS Labels benefits from SMB loan

Willenhall-based print specialist CS Labels is able to develop its digital print services with new backing from HSBC UK.

The firm has invested in the new Xeikon CX500 digital press and expanded its team with support from a six-figure loan from HSBC.

HSBC has created a £12bn fund to lend to businesses, with £1.1bn dedicated to small- to medium-businesses (SMBs). In 2017, HSBC approved 93% of businesses, lending up to £30k for start-ups and businesses switching to bank with HSBC.

Simon Smith, managing director of CS Labels, comments: “We’ve seen increasing demand for digitally printed services over the past year and with our new Xeikon CX500 – and plans for further printing presses – we are ideally placed to meet this need.

“The support of our HSBC relationship manager has been key to making this expansion in our services possible, allowing us to purchase state-of-the-art equipment that will ensure we deliver the best quality to our customers.”

CS labels continues to go from strength-to-strength and is fast becoming a leader in the digital print world. We’re delighted to have been able to support this local business in improving their machinery and relocating to bigger, better premises

The fund has made a great impact on CS Labels, with the investment in new equipment forming part of a ten-year strategic growth plan. The firm also used some of the loan to move to new offices in Willenhall.

The move has enabled the digital printers to put in place the infrastructure to facilitate growth and space to bring in the next generation of digital presses.

As well as being able to create five new jobs, the firm also plans to purchase an additional two digital printing presses in 2019.

“CS labels continues to go from strength-to-strength and is fast becoming a leader in the digital print world. We’re delighted to have been able to support this local business in improving their machinery and relocating to bigger, better premises,” adds Stephen Peart, HSBC UK’s area director for business banking in the Black Country.
