Onlineprinters donates €5,000 to refugees

Onlineprinters has shown its support for Refugio, a non-profit counselling and treatment centre for traumatised refugees, by donating €5,000.

As well as donating the generous sum of money, the printing specialists also printed exhibition catalogues of project pictures made in the charity’s art therapy class.

Highlighting the healing effect of art to process traumatic experiences, the catalogue will be a valuable tool for Refugio to support its public relations.

Commenting on the importance of art in overcoming trauma, Margit Papamokos, who founded the art workshop at Refugio, says: “Art is a very effective means to communicate with children and adolescents who fled their home, non-verbally at first allowing language barriers to be overcome.”

Onlineprinters employs people from more than 20 nations, including refugees. Refugio makes an important contribution to integrating them. And companies such as ours benefit from these efforts as well

Onlineprinters not only supports human causes such as Refugio but has a clear focus on sustainability. 800 copies of the 76-page catalogue were printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper, with the greenhouse gases generated during production compensated for within the scope of its carbon neutral printing programme.

The company produced 3bn printed advertising products last year, including more than 1500 print products such as business cards, letterheads, flyers, catalogues, brochures, and large-format advertising systems.

Commenting on its decision to support the refugee non-profit group, chief executive officer of Onlineprinters, Michael Fries, says: “Onlineprinters employs people from more than 20 nations, including refugees. Refugio makes an important contribution to integrating them. And companies such as ours benefit from these efforts as well.”
