Nettl has invested in a Veloblade Nexus to bring its CNC and cutting work in-house

Nettl has taken order of a new Veloblade Nexus from Vivid Laminating Technologies as part of wider investment in infrastructure and equipment.

Founded in 1987 as the Digiprint Group, Nettl Digiprint has two main locations: Nettl Print and Design Studios in Bath, and Nettl Signs & Graphics in Chippenham for signs and displays.

In December 2022, the company moved to a brand-new larger production facility to continue its sign manufacturing range with a focus on its eco ranges of signage and print.

Having previously outsourced most CNC and cutting work, Nettl was experiencing delays in production and varying quality issues which stopped the workflow as a result.

Because of this, the company decided to invest in a Veloblade Nexus to keep control of its own production with in-house services.

Having been a customer of Vivid for many years, Nettl had investigated other manufacturers for flatbed cutting and CNC and having tested the Veloblade Nexus in action, decided its build quality, range of functions, and value for money was the best option for the company.

Ben Gregory, director at Digitprint Nettl, describes the technology as a “robust, versatile, and affordable piece of kit”. According to Gregory, the company has only scratched the surface in terms of what it can do so far and the team is discovering new solutions for its customers daily.

Nettl is a long-standing customer of Vivid Laminating Technologies

“The option to keep all production in-house has drastically sped up production times, kept quality high and exceeded customer expectations,” Gregory says. “We are yet to find a susbtrate that the Nexus cannot handle and have even thrown a few curveballs with various woods, plastics, and roll medias.

“It has rapidly sped up production for sign boards, banners, and posters, which are an everyday staple product. But we have also been able to produce short-run packaging, prototypes, and direct print and cut products that were previously unavailable.”

Describing the Nexus as a “gamechanger” for the business, Gregory says he can’t recommend the technology enough.

“From the offset, Duncan in sales was great and really helped with options and information. The install team of Jason and Matt were professional but really friendly and explained everything clearly with great tips and tricks to get the best out of the Nexus and its range of tools and blades.”
