Chartley Coffee in Hixon, Staffordshire, had the honour of securing the first of these devices in the UK and plans to use the machine to print roll-to-roll flexible packaging.

The coffee company will feed rolls to their coffee packaging lines, as well as other packaging machines used for tea companies and other clients in the beverage industry.

“Using the MVZ, we can print up to a metre wide onto accurately wound jumbo rolls,” Chartley Coffe managing director Owain Antcliff, says, adding: “This functionality means that we can offer a wider range of solutions for our customers and enable us to be more responsive and add value to our offering.”

Developed by Rigoli, the Memjet-powered MVZ 1000 can support media up to 1,067mm wide and 1,000m in length, producing 1600 × 1600dpi at 9m/min, or 1600 × 800dpi at 18m/min speed.

Zsolt Tarjanyi, managing director of Rigoli, adds: “As the packaging market addresses an increasing demand for varying branding, messaging, sizes, and shapes, the MVZ 1000 delivers. It has the speed, image quality, reliability, and affordability that users demand-and only Memjet technology can provide.”
