The new model is capable of printing roll-to-roll CMYK at 13.5m/min at a native solution of 1200 x 1200 DPI, while maximum unwind/rewind diameter stands at 500mm.

The continuous feed printing system is also capable of printing on a range of both self-adhesive and non-adhesive materials, such as coated and uncoated paper, polypropylene and synthetic paper.

Dave Gully, group product marketing manager at Konica Minolta says: “There is an increasing requirement to produce labels in shorter run length and individualised labelling is also gaining relevance in the converter market.

With this launch we are helping widen converters’ capability, supporting them to be more innovative and to offer customers new added-value marketing solutions that may include multiple versions, personalisation and brand protection features

“Digital technology is the enabler for label printers to offer personalisation and versioning in short- to mid-runs, providing them with the ability to cost-effectively address current developments in the industrial printing market, expand into new markets and secure new and recurrent revenue streams.

“With this launch we are helping widen converters’ capability, supporting them to be more innovative and to offer customers new added-value marketing solutions that may include multiple versions, personalisation and brand protection features.”

While Konica Minolta already has a host of solutions on offer, this new launch represents the firm’s ability and willingness to respond to market demand—a strategy that will stand it in good stead in today’s competitive market.
