EFI’s purchase of Reggiani in July put it at the forefront of textile printing at a time when this growing sector is transitioning from analogue to digital printing, as the requirements shift from long-run to on-demand manufacturing due to increased demand for short runs and customisation.

The new ReNOIR Next printer will be taking pride of place among the technology on EFI Reggiani’s stand. The innovative model prints onto fabrics and papers using the same ink set, with a 1.8m beltless digital printing system.

“Visitors to ITMA will be able to generate a wealth of new ideas, whether they’re first-time investors in digital textile solutions or established fabric specialists,” says managing director of EFI Reggiani dr. Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni, adding: “With the key to true integration, our fabric printing and finishing solutions incorporate the highest levels of technological know-how with a solid legacy of chemical knowledge and inks.”

Another debut for the business at ITMA will be the DuPont Aritstri PK2600 digital textile pigment inks, formulated for cotton textile roll-to-roll printing for EFI Reggiani machines. DuPont Digital Printing’s textile market segment leader, Ted Zhi, says of the launch: “When two market leaders come together to collaborate on a high-growth area of technology as important as pigment inks for roll-to-roll printing, it’s a powerful combination.

“We expect the new DuPont Artistri PK2600 inks and the innovative printing process developed by EFI Reggiani will considerably enhance the role of pigment inks for high-speed digital printing applications in the future.”

ITMA 2015, the industry’s foremost textile and garment machinery exhibition, starts today and runs until the 19th of November, at Fiera Milano Rho in Milan, Italy, with major exhibitors including Epson, MTEX, Mimaki, HP, and Roland, as well as EFI.
