Eagle set for UV launch at FESPA 2013

The Eagle range of UV LED flatbed inkjet printers will be launched at FESPA 2013 by SSE Worldwide

The machine is ideal for smaller format work such as phone covers

The Eagle UV LED 30 can print up to 1m-wide while the UV LED 60 model can print up to 1.5m-wide onto substrates up to 25cm in thickness.

The devices, developed by DPI DG Printing Italy and incorporating Epson printheads, can print both CMYK and white. UV inks should allow the device to jostle for position at FESPA, where the ability of machines to print on a wide variety of substrates will be expected by many attendees.

The firm also states its belief that it will be suitable for the growing industrial print market.

“The Eagle 30 is essentially a quick turnaround, short-run machine, while the larger Eagle 60 is a production engine that can play a key role in a developing print business,” says Scott Armitage, managing director, SSE Worldwide.

In a sign perhaps, that the print industry is switching onto web-to-print the device will come with its own software, in addition to stanard RIP software.
