Offset print firm announces CEO change

Contiweb, a web offset press solutions firm, has announced the retirement of its chief executive officer Bert Schoonderbeek, and the appointment of Rutger Jansen to take over the role.

Bert Schoonderbeek steps down as Contiweb’s CEO

During his 24 years as chief executive officer, Schoonderbeek has witnessed the firm become established within the web offset solutions market and has worked to expand the company’s offering in the digital market, including the label and packaging sector.

Rick Hoffman, partner of American Industrial Partners, which owns Contiweb, describes Schoonderbeek as “an industry icon”. He says: “His tireless and inspired leadership has led Contiweb through tremendous growth and piloted the route to Contiweb’s independence.

“Bert has pushed the company’s entry into new markets, including labels and packaging, while also investing in areas that will continue to be highly valued by our customers.”

Rutger Janson assumed the role of chief executive officer on January 1st, 2019. Having first joined Contiweb in 1990, Jansen has held various positions within the company, being promoted from director of customer service, to service director of EMEAR.

Commenting on the impact Schoonderbeek has had during his long career, Jansen says: “He has been instrumental in forging strong relationships with our customers, OEM partners and colleagues. We are deeply grateful for Bert’s innumerable contributions to Contiweb’s success to-date and I look forward to working with him in his new role as chief business development officer.”

Schoonderbeek and Jansen will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
