Bryan Shirley has been a director of Bluetree Group for 18 years and was part of the original team before Bluetree Design and Print merged with instantprint.co.uk in 2012.

Shirley has seen the company through several major changes, including the launch of the group’s subsequent brands Route 1 Print and Route 1 Connect, which brings automated print buying strategies to print managers and other companies with a high demand for print.

Commenting on his time with the company, Shirley says: “I’ve seen incredible growth whilst working here. When we were just a screen printer, the vision was always to get into web-to-print and, by a chance meeting and subsequent merger with Adam Carnell and James Kinsella, this was achieved.

“I know this visionary team are going to continue to grow and disrupt the market even further and it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of this journey. As they say; it’s not a job, it’s an adventure.”

The management of Route 1 Connect now falls to Sarah Kilcoyne who has worked closely with Shirley on the project. Shirely says: “After working with Sarah for more than eight years, I know she is the right person to take the helm and drive Route 1 Connect even further.

I know this visionary team are going to continue to grow and disrupt the market even further and it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of this journey

“From her wealth of knowledge in the industry, her experience working with print managers, and her drive to grow the Route 1 Connect goals of automated print communication, there is no doubt in my mind that this brand has a bright future with Sarah at the forefront.”

Managing director of Bluetree Group, Adam Carnell comments: “It has been an honour working alongside Bryan over the last 6 years. He has had a massive influence on the performance of Bluetree Group as we have navigated our way through times of change in a very dynamic print market.

“Bryan initiated our people focused culture which remains one of the most important aspects of our business. He brought fun into the office and bred a culture of belonging for all members of our team, setting a high bar for us to continue. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Shirley’s last day at the company was marked with a company-wide sports day.
