Epson has expanded its SCARA robot range with the introduction of two new models

The two new models, GX10 and GX20, build on Epson’s GX4 and GX8 series
Two new highly compact models have been added to Epson’s range of SCARA robots: the GX10 and GX20.
Described as building on the success of its GX4 and GX8 series and ideal for a range of industries such as assembling components, dosing, and feeding, the latest additions to the portfolio offer optimum productivity, speed, reach, and precision within smaller spaces.
Due to its solid, stiff arm, the GX10 series can handle ultra-fast speeds and high load capacities up to 10kg and the robot is designed for applications such as packaging, palletising, loading, unloading, and assembling heavy components.
Unlike market alternatives, the GX10 series has been designed with an arm that curves to the left or right, enabling the maximum square working area to be significantly expanded. The arm is available at lengths of 650mm and 850mm and feature a high rigidity design which result in low residual vibration.
The GX20 model is designed for very heavy loads of up to 20kg and features either an arm of 1,000mm or 850mm. Patented motion sensors ensure heavy loads are moved quickly without any vibrations in the arm.
According to Epson, the GX20 can improve productivity where high speed with maximum precision is needed such as for mechanical and electrical parts.
Both models are offered as a complete solution including the robot, controller, and software and can be supplied as tabletop units. Alternatively, both robots can be ordered as a wall or ceiling-mounted unit.
The new additions were made available on November 6th.
