Organisers of US-based Printing United have announced that this year’s edition of the industry event will move to an online experience due to ongoing concerns over the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Printing United was due to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, this October

The event had ben due to run from October 21st to 23rd at the World Congress Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, but will instead switch to online, allowing people from around the world to join the experience.

Ford Bowers, president and chief executive of the Printing United Alliance, says that though the decision to cancel the physical version of the event was not easy, he says it was done so in order to protect both visitors and exhibitors.

“We have waited as long as possible before costs and logistical implications to our exhibitors and attendees became irreversible,” Bower explains.

“Many factors are unfortunately out of our control, including travel restrictions and federal, state, and local governmental regulations, as well as the potential for another spike in Covid-19 occurrences.

“These factors, and the attendant uncertainties around them, have made it nearly impossible to responsibly hold the event.”

Details of the online experience will be announced at a later date.
