Coveris will be showcasing its latest sustainable packaging solutions

Organisers behind the event, which aims to showcase innovations in the European packaging market, are taking an environmentally friendly approach to this year’s FachPack.

Amongst the exhibitors is Coveris, a flexible packaging manufacturer, which will be launching new additions to its sustainable range of products at the event.

The first development is Monoflex E, a recyclable, mono-material alternative for dry pet food packaging, designed using 100% polyethylene that can work for both form-fill-seal and premade bags.

Monoflex E is suitable for printing both gravure and flexo, whilst the increased stiffness of the material and equivalent machinability as standard PET/PE makes it easy to introduce to production lines.

Another solution Coveris plans to showcase is PE+, a recyclable film intended for retail packaging applications. Coveris launched the material in selected Tesco and Co-op produce lines in the UK and is planning further sales expansion to other European countries.

Our latest film solutions deliver the same protective, functional and shelf life benefits as existing solutions, but additionally answer the growing market need for more recyclable packaging

PE+ is also made from polyethylene and is positioned as a sustainable alternative to OPP plastics, commonly used in microwave meals.

Jakob A. Mosser, chief executive officer at Coveris, comments: “Our latest film solutions deliver the same protective, functional and shelf life benefits as existing solutions, but additionally answer the growing market need for more recyclable packaging by 2025.

"Therefore, they are a significant step forward in supporting the packaging market in reducing both food waste and environmental footprint.”

In the world of software, Arden Software is planning to showcase the latest developments in its portfolio of packaging design software at FachPack. The firm will be running live product demos of its latest CAD software, Impact 2019, as well as a preview of its project management software, WEBcnx 2019.

Frank Haustein, managing director at Arden Software, comments: “Arden Software is proud to be returning to FachPack once again where we’ve got an exciting line-up planned, giving visitors a glimpse of the endless possibilities that can be achieved through our packaging software solutions.

Arden will be previewing its new project management software, WEDcnx 2019

“The highlight for Arden will be the unveiling of WEBcnx 2019, which for the first time has been optimised for mobile. WEBcnx acts as a virtual project manager, enabling you to project manage your packaging production from wherever you are in the world.

"Whether it’s order entry, design, laboratory, graphics, stock management or quotations, WEBcnx links the different parts of a business together, streamlining workflow.”

In the sector of quality control, EyeC will be demonstrating how its technology can help printers achieve the highest quality standards alongside fellow exhibitor Dr. Wirth, a supplier of packaging, paper processing and folding box gluing machines.

EyeC will be showing visitors how using the Versor Inspector module with the EyeC ProofRunner Carton Folder Gluer allows for 100% print inspection on an existing folder gluer, enabling printers to meet high quality standards, such as those required in the pharmaceutical industry.

The 40th edition of FachPack takes place in Nuremberg, Germany, from September 24th to 26th, 2019.
