Looking to the future with MBO

By 2020, it is estimated that more than 1.7 million new industrial robots will be installed to oversee tasks such as handling, assembling and manufacturing products.

In an event that promises customers the chance to “look into the future and see the possibilities of tomorrow”, MBO is hosting an open house event.

Taking place on September 5th and 6th, the event will look at topics such as automation, digitalisation, robotics, networking and Industry 4.0.

On display at the event is a range of MBO’s forward-thinking hardware, including its combi folder range, its buckle folder range, and its web finishing line.

With robots being used more frequently in physically demanding tasks, freeing up employees for other skilled jobs, MBO’s CoBo-Stack collaborative robot is an example of where this technology is headed.

The robot works alongside human colleagues and is described as “revolutionising the labour-intensive, manual stacking of folded signatures” without the need for additional safety measures.

Also on display at the open house will be MBO’s collection of folding machines – the K8RS, K8 and K80 combi folders, and the T800.1 and T50 buckle fold machines.

The T50 is the manufacturer’s latest B2 buckle folder, bringing MBO’s most up-to-date technology to the small-format markets.

As well as witnessing the hardware in action, attendees will have the opportunity to experience MBO’s Datamanager 4.0 software packaging for production planning and analysis, and view the firm’s new unwinder, and rotary die-cutter.

With Drupa taking place next year, the open house hopes to provide attendees with the chance to have an early glimpse at the innovations and technologies planned for the event.
