The branding for Creative Boom X was created in collaboration with Nine Sixty

Katy Cowan founded Creative Boom in July of 2009 as a side venture, but now the online magazine attracts 700,000 readers a month.

“What began as a hobby soon became an established online resource for creative people everywhere,” Cowan explains. “Our tips and inspiration articles have proved especially popular with graduates and freelancers, not just in the UK but all over the world. It’s wonderful to see how its grown.”

Creative Boom’s content focuses on art, film, graphic design, illustration, and photography, whilst also offering tips and insight for those working in the creative industries.

Cowan approached ten artists and designers with the brief ‘Celebrating 10 years of Creative Boom – A decade of love and support for the creative industries’ and all ten pieces of work will be unveiled at a launch party in Manchester with all profits going to the British Heart Foundation.

I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with and share their unique poster designs

Abbey Lossing, Anna Parini, Anthony Burrill, Araki Koman, Craig&Karl, David Sedgwick of StudioDBD, Lisa Congdon, Stan Chow, Rob Lowe of Supermundane, and Verònica Fuerte of Hey Studio.

“These are people we feel represent the spirit of Creative Boom, those we’ve previously featured and ones we greatly admire” adds Cowan. I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with and share their unique poster designs when we celebrate our birthday this September.”

WithPrint near Bristol will be printing the posters using an Océ Arizona for the A2 posters and an HP Indigo for the A3 posters. G.F Smith donated the paper and materials for the posters.

The final designs for Creative Boom X will be revealed at a ticketed event in Manchester on Thursday, September 5th with further details to be released in August.
