The Fogra Research Institute for Media Technologies is a German-based research institute for printing and media.

The Fogra certification is proof of the quality of a printing or media company and its ability to demonstrate smooth production.

The AccurioJet KM-1 achieved the recognition due to its stability, versatility and colour accuracy.

As well as checking the achievement of the required target, a FOGRA employee will check that the necessary quality controls exist to ensure consistent production over the long term.

With a capability of printing up to 3,000 single-sided B2 sheets p/h at up to 1,200 dpi, the printer is able to carry out hybrid printing and allows for short-run offset to be moved to digital inkjet. The machine can also print onto packaging board, lightweight papers and textured stock.

The robust FOGRA53 certification demonstrates the incredible stability, versatility and colour management of the AccurioJet KM-1 and has been achieved after an exhaustive testing programme

Already having been recognised as ‘Best Cut-Sheet Colour B2+ Printer’ by the European Digital Press Association, the AccurioJet KM-1 also features Dot Freeze Technology (DFT).

DFT is a solution to uncontrolled ink dot movement which results in compromised print quality and the reduction of workable materials. The technology self-freezes ink drops upon contact with the material, turning high-flowing inks from a printhead nozzle into a low-flowing, immobile ink droplet when it hits the material.

Commenting on the achievement, Colin Osborne MBE, head of colour management at Konica Minolta Marketing, says: “The robust FOGRA53 certification demonstrates the incredible stability, versatility and colour management of the AccurioJet KM-1 and has been achieved after an exhaustive testing programme.”
