The Promatrix 106FC comes with feeder platform, motorised side alignment, pneumatic tooling and non-stop delivery apron

The first of its kind to be used in the UK, the foiling and cutting machine has been developed, manufactured and supplied through the Heidelberg-Masterwork partnership.

The Promatrix 106FC, which provides hot foil embossing and hologram application, can handle stocks of 90gsm paper up to 2000 gsm board or 4mm corrugated materials in formats up to 760 x 1060mm. It also boasts a maximum speed of 7500sph and has the ability to foil in transverse and longitudinal directions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Specialising in commemorative coin and medal packaging, Zenith Print and Packaging supplies businesses in the UK and abroad with litho and digital print products. The company currently runs a battery of Speedmaster presses, Suprasetter CtP technology, and post-press machines from Heidelberg for both commercial and packaging purposes.

We handle high quality work for coin and metal collectors and retail applications and foiling gives a stand out, luxury finish to a product

The new machine sits alongside a Promatrix 106CS die cutter (for cutting and stripping) and a Diana Smart 80 folder-gluer, at Zenith’s factory in Pontypridd, Wales.

John Mooney, managing director of the Zenith Group, says: “We have been very pleased with the Promatrix CS die-cutter and the Diana Smart folder-gluer, so it wasn’t a hard decision to opt to source our foiling machine from Heidelberg this time round.

"We handle high quality work for coin and metal collectors and retail applications and foiling gives a stand out, luxury finish to a product. We will use this machine for runs of 500 to 500,000, primarily for numismatic (coin collection) and gift box applications.”
