Deanprint sets growth path with Friedheim

Stockport-based Deanprint has called on Friedheim International to support the latest stage of a major investment strategy.

Deanprint is committed to a major investment project, under which it plans to replace all major production kit

The firm, which last year celebrated its 125th anniversary, already has a large range of kit in place, but is committed to an ongoing plan to replace all major items in its plant—and the latest purchase came in the form of two Baumann-Wohlenberg high speed cutters.

As the UK and Ireland agent for the manufacturer, Friedheim supplied the kit to Deanprint.

Kevin Lee, operations director at Deanprint, spoke positively about the latest additions to its portfolio, and explains how the new machines will fit into its already-strong production set-up.

“Following the purchase of two Baumann-Wohlenberg high speed cutters in 2014 we have been very pleased with these new 115’s over the older Polar’s they replaced, so it was a natural step when other dated machines needed replacing that we went for a further two Baumann-Wohlenbergs,” Lee says.

“This provides us with uniform skills and quality processes from one machine to another, and enables us to transfer cutting programs from machine to machine when required.

“Our workload is split almost equally between educational, government and trade work, and depending on the job, this can involve the full process of origination, printing and finishing with over 100 pieces of finishing equipment.”

Lee adds: “We are pleased with our latest Baumann-Wohlenberg 115 high speed cutters, and this continues our on-going investment in plant in replacing all major items of finishing equipment over the past six years.”

Meanwhile, in response to a spike in interest in its various finishing solutions, Friedheim has moved to strengthen its post-press sales team by recruiting Simon Cox.

We are very pleased to have Simon on board as he brings to the Friedheim sales team a great deal of experience across many aspects of print production

Cox boasts almost two decades’ of experience in the printing and graphic arts industries, and has built up an in-depth knowledge of the market that he will use to support Friedheim moving forward.

Stuart Bamford, UK and Ireland sales manager for Friedheim, comments: “We are very pleased to have Simon on board as he brings to the Friedheim sales team a great deal of experience across many aspects of print production.

“His in-depth knowledge of finishing procedures will prove of great benefit in dealing with our existing and new customers, and in being able to offer the best solutions possible to their various requirements.”
