The Woodland Trust has joined Two Sides to promote the sustainability of print and paper
First established in 1972, the Woodland Trust has more than 500,000 members and supporters nationally, all committed to protecting over 26,000 hectares of precious woodland area.
Stuart Davis, print production manager at the Woodland Trust says: “As the UK's largest woodland conservation charity we produce a lot of printed literature. We feel it is very important that when we communicate with our supporters, we demonstrate that we are serious about where our paper comes from and that it is produced using sustainable and responsible forestry.
... we can promote paper’s unique recyclable and renewable qualities and also help to dispel common environmental misconceptions”
“By joining Two Sides, we can promote paper’s unique recyclable and renewable qualities and also help to dispel common environmental misconceptions that it has a negative impact on the environment.”
The Trust owns more than 1,000 native woods across the country, many of which are ancient woods and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs).
By partnering with Two Sides and utilising its resources, it will further allow the Woodland Trust to commit to inform and educate the wider community about the sustainable and environmental attributes of the print and paper industry.
Davis continues: “Print and paper has always been and will be a versatile, effective and powerful means of marketing and communication. It is also one of the few truly sustainable products. Long may this continue.”
