Fujifilm has had a series of announcements over the last year which it celebrated in London

On the banks of the River Thames, Fujifilm hosted a glamourous night for staff, partners, and customers to celebrate its new initiatives, followed by an open day for business owners to get up close and personal with the new kit and solutions on display.

After announcing the availability of its Revoria and ApeosPro C Series toner presses earlier in the month, the event acted as a chance to formally unveil the presses along with the company’s new digital workflow, XMF PressReady.

Titled ‘Discover the Difference’, the London-based event took place at the scenic Trinity Buoy Wharf where attendees could enjoy views of the O2 arena and Canary Wharf.

The evening started with a boat ride on the Thames to the venue, which passed famous sites such as Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast, and the Tower of London. The celebration and open event took place at Trinity Buoy Lighthouse, home to London’s only remaining training and testing lighthouse that was built in 1864.

The launch event was the culmination of a phased roll-out of the new portfolio over 18 months, beginning in five European countries, and then gradually expanding across the continent.

In its presentation, Fujifilm highlighted that print makes up 40% of its global business alongside strong areas like business innovation and healthcare.

A big focus of the event was on colour, expansion, and digital transformation, the latter two being focus-points highlighted by the senior vice president for Graphic Communications Division of Fujifilm Europe, Taku Ueno.

Ueno said that the company is going through a tremendous period of expansion in which its history in photography, graphic communications and offset print is helping bring the company together and create a new digital future.

Fujifilm’s new customer innovation centre in Luton was also mentioned by Ueno as an example of the company’s expansion and transformation in the UK and Europe. The centre is expected to open in June 2023.

Taro Aoki, head of digital press solutions, Fujifilm Europe, says: “Fujifilm is now in a very strong position to offer the best in inkjet and the best in toner to benefit our UK customers, and to demonstrate the synergies of these technologies working together, along with a powerful new digital workflow. A significant occasion deserves to be marked by a significant event.”

Fujifilm’s Revoria Press PC1120 previously won a Buyers Lab 2022 Pro Award in the Outstanding High-Volume CMYK+ Production Device category. This was due to its six colour stations, halftone image reproduction, and mixed-media workflow performance.

Fujifilm staff highlighted the press’s ability to produce prints on both sides of the sheet and vivid neon colours, as well as pinks and oranges that can create vivid and natural skin tones.

Mark Lawn, head of POD solutions at Fujifilm Graphic Communications Europe, comments: “After long anticipation, we’re excited to be bringing the Revoria brand to the UK.

“Customers across Europe are already enjoying the benefits of these versatile, high-quality presses with their huge potential for creative applications, and I am excited to see this continue across the UK.”

As well as showcasing the PC1120, the event highlighted the Revoria E1 series, a mono press which still demonstrates Fujifilm’s commitment to clarity and quality made for corporate and web-to-press businesses.

The ApeosPro C Series has been used in a number of applications including products for wedding and funeral sectors

Also at the event was the ApeosPro C series of light production digital printers made for corporate offices, design agencies, and light production environments.

The range is designed for rapid on-demand printing and can produce flyers, brochures, catalogues, and a range of marketing materials including banners up to 1.3m in length.

The range includes three models; the standard ApeosPro C750, a premium model, the ApeosPro C810, and the ApeosPro C650, which offers an additional ultra-accessible entry point for businesses with lower production requirements.

Speaking to Print Monthly at the event, Lawn adds: “Fujifilm is ultimately sharing the message that we are transforming as a company to help our customers transform their companies. Our new technologies help to support a digital transformation such as moving from offset to digital.

The event in London had many opportunities for visitors to take and print colourful photographs

“This journey started with solutions like our Jet Press technology, which is our B2 inkjet solution. We’re now enhancing that by introducing toner-based solutions which use the best of inkjet and toner to enable companies to benefit from digital-on-demand solutions and a much more diverse range of applications for customers.”
