Covid-19 changes lead to growth at Azutura

Durham-based firm Azutura has opened up about how a shift in its customer demographic – caused by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic – has allowed it to expand its business.

Azutura has worked with more than over 100 artists, illustrators, designers and photographers since the outbreak of Covid-19

Azutura established a new personality-driven wall mural service, using its HP Latex printers to produce artwork for customers around the world, and working with a wide range of artists, photographers, designers and illustrators.

Though its customer network had traditionally been split between commercial work such as offices, and the domestic market, with shoppers choosing their design and dimensions via its e-commerce website.

However, as the Covid-19 shutdown paused the majority of commercial orders, Azutura focused more on its customers that are improving their homes, and artist liaison David Atkinson explains that this proved to be a shrewd move.

“We have partnered with over 100 artists, illustrators, designers and photographers so far and each of them is a real person,” Atkinson says.

“We want our customers to get to know them through blog posts and interviews, and to make it easy to for them choose their favourite designs from each artist.

“We are also creating a local connection. City skylines are a very popular choice for wall murals but with stock photographs you tend to see the same images again and again.

“We are actively looking for more artists, as many in the UK as possible - in every city and every town.”

The company currently runs two HP Latex 570 printers and one HP Latex 315, alongside an older Latex machine.
