Wegner is a commercial print business and offers brochures, booklets, calendars and photobooks. Initially, the firm invested in the Jet Press 720S in 2015 but upgraded to the 750S last year. Seven months later, and Henning Rose, who is the chief executive officer of Wegner, says that products can now be printed on a much wider range of substrates and production is much quicker.

Rose continues: “The Jet Press [720S] was far more productive and produced much higher quality print work than any machines we had previously owned. We were thoroughly impressed with its B2 format print capabilities and the quantity of work that we were able to produce with it. And now the Jet Press 750S – with the same exceptional quality as its predecessor but with higher output and speed – is helping us take things a step further.

The Jet Press’s ability to print onto synthetic substrates has been a game changer for us

“We decided to upgrade to the Jet Press 750S to future-proof our business and ensure we remained up-to-date with the latest and most advanced technology available on the market, so it was the natural step for us to take.”

The investment has also allowed Wegner to enter new markets – something a little bit different in the form of point-of-sale wobblers for packaging. Rose explains: “The Jet Press’s ability to print onto synthetic substrates has been a game changer for us. We use a special pre-coating and UV post-varnish process, so we can operate the Jet Press at the same speed as our other sheet-fed operations and the quality produced is exactly the same. So, we’ve made inroads into another market with a combination of Fujifilm’s expertise and our own.”
