More than just a print and copy shop

Philip Milburn, owner of Minuteman Press, a design, marketing, and printing franchise, hosted a blogging night to promote all that the print industry has to offer.

Following a trip to Google’s European headquarters in London, Milburn had the idea to host the night to expose bloggers and their followers with an industry they may not be familiar with.

“I was invited to Google’s European headquarters in London by our partner firm who we work with to set up SEO and PPC campaigns for our Norwich-based customers,” explains Milburn. “During the time I was at Google, someone mentioned that every town probably has a large number of bloggers which specialise in all sorts of subjects.

“Obviously, being bloggers, the goal was to invite them to a really interesting evening at our Ber Street Centre and offer them some great food and fizz while educating them and their large numbers of followers of what happens at Minuteman Press Norwich.”

The theme for the evening was ‘More than just a print and copy shop’ and included showcases and demonstrations of the copying and printing services they provide, and the promotional products they produce, such as mugs, t-shirts, and tote bags.

The bloggers enjoyed personalising their own bags and merchandise with quotes and images, which they shared across their social media accounts during the event.

As well as the activities, the firm made the bloggers aware of the sales and marketing services they have available such as SEO support, social media management, email campaigns, and website designing – all services relevant to the bloggers in their own work.

Local blogger Shelley Beth, posting under the handle ‘Shellybethblog’, shared an image of her personalised tote bag on Instagram with the caption: “As well as printing on just about everything, I learnt that they also offer all round marketing packages including social media, SEO and PPC.”

Milburn adds: “The blogging night was a success, with everyone fully understanding that we are so much more than just a print and copy shop. There has been a wealth of activity across many local platforms and we have already handled many jobs following on from the night!”
