Keith Dalton, managing director of Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK, has described the firm’s attendance at Ipex 2014 as “extremely positive” after it attracted plenty of interest from visitors to the show

Fujifilm’s stand at Ipex looked to replicate a real production environment, with machines working throughout the day to produce various materials

Fujifilm showcased a range of inkjet production systems for commercial print and label applications on its stand, with the Jet Press 720 B2 sheet-fed press, Jet Press 540W web press and new Graphium digital label press proving popular.

Dalton enthuses: “It was an extremely positive sign to see the high number of visitors to the show despite the absence of some industry suppliers.

“Almost all of our UK customers attended and we welcomed a steady stream of visitors all week.

“Even on the last day we hosted some customers who had made the journey from Italy.”

Dalton claims the firm’s 'real production environment' stand concept was also very well received by visitors, with Fujifilm machines running throughout each day of the event in an effort to replicate a real print house.

Short run brochures, labels, magazines, calendars, books, manuals and posters were produced each day, with the Jet Press 720 averaging over 100 makereadies daily, and the Jet Press 540W producing the equivalent of more than 110 sections.

Dalton continues: “We had only five days prior to the show to set everything up and had to be out of ExCel three days after it closed.

Our inkjet platforms showed the technology’s ability to handle a variety of paper stocks and produce different jobs, and the support we received from our partners helped us to guarantee perfectly finished products

“We’ve proved that it is possible to do this and run a live production environment during an exhibition, operating a seven and a half hour shift every day of the show.

“Our inkjet platforms showed the technology’s ability to handle a variety of paper stocks and produce different jobs, and the support we received from our partners helped us to guarantee perfectly finished products.

“We succeeded in taking advantage of Ipex 2014 to inform visitors about the true ‘Power of Inkjet’, demonstrating the advantages of this technology and the different applications and business models that it’s possible to achieve with Fujifilm’s inkjet presses.”
